This policy explains what information Verity ("Verity," "we," "us") collects through veritydating.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. Right now this website is a waitlist for the Verity dating app, which has not launched yet.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, you give us:
- Your first name
- Your email address
- Your ZIP code
- Whether you are a woman or a man, and whether you are looking for women or men
- Your age range
We do not ask for your last name, phone number, photos, ID or payment details on this website.
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically receives basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. To stop spam, we briefly keep a scrambled version of your IP address to limit repeated sign-up attempts; it is deleted automatically within an hour.
How we use it
- To hold your place on the waitlist and your founding-member price
- To email you when Verity opens in your area, and to send you launch updates
- To decide where to launch first, based on where members are signing up
- To keep the waitlist free of fake and duplicate sign-ups
What we don't do
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not show your information to other people. No one can see that you joined the waitlist.
Who else handles it
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site, under their own privacy and security obligations:
- Website hosting: our site and waitlist are hosted with GoDaddy in the United States.
- Fonts: the page loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts load.
- Email: if we use an email service to send launch announcements, it will receive your name and email address only for that purpose.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our members or the public.
Cookies
The waitlist page does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist information until Verity launches in your area and you decide whether to become a member, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. If you never join, we delete waitlist information within 24 months of launch in your area.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe: every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
- See, correct or delete your information: email us at info@veritydating.com from the address you signed up with, and we will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under your state's law. We will honor those requests as the law requires.
Security
Your information is stored on a secured server, and the site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit who can access waitlist information.
Age requirement
Verity is only for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone underage has signed up, contact us and we will delete it.
When the app launches
The Verity app will include identity verification (a live selfie, photo ID check and phone number). Before you use the app, we will give you a separate, detailed privacy notice explaining how that information is handled.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will let waitlist members know by email.
